The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and Government of India (GOI) has established National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization under Society Registration Act 1860 for conducting efficient, transparent and international standards tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admissions to premier higher education institutions. The responsibility of conducting joint entrance examination JEE (mains) was given to NTA from 2019.
A Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main). The (B. E. /B. Tech.) of JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programs offered by the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs).
JEE Main Preparation : The online application process for JEE Main which is held in month of January begins from 1st week September and the last date to apply is 30th September. Every year nearly 14-15 lakhs aspiring engineers appear for JEE Main in order to get into the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other Government-funded Technology Institutes (GFTIs). JEE Main is also the preliminary exam for candidates who wish to study in the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) through the JEE Advanced. The top 2, 50,000 JEE Main candidates will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced.

Each test is time bound, as you begin with your test, the clock starts and the moment time is over, the screen is off. Once your time is over you can check your score. Online examination gives an opportunity to take mock test exactly under the same conditions as in examination hall.
